WHO WE ARE

The Rainmaker, Inc. is an irrigation and landscape contracting firm. We have been providing exceptional customer service in Montrose, Colorado and the surroungind area for over 30 years. The company's services include landscape and irrigation design consulting, construction and service. Commercial system installation and service comprises over 70% of the Rainmaker's sales.

Dennis Vanderwist is the Owner and President of Rainmaker, Inc.

The current staff includes twenty full time employees. Seasonal employment additions vary from five to ten as needed. Ten of the full time staff have proudly served with the company for over ten years.
During the 1980's continuing commercial, golf course and municipal parks work in the western slope mountain towns firmly established the company's expertise in rocky, difficult mountain environments. Landscaping was added to Rainmaker's services in 1986. The Rainmaker emphasis has always been on quality and service. Consequently, landscapes are chosen very selectively.
During the 1990's the landscape design and installation division grew. The majority of the landscape projects were in the Telluride and mountain towns. Landscape design is currently offered as a separate service. Most Rainmaker landscapes begins with contracted design services and evolve to design build projects. Rainmaker has recently been involved with a multi-million dollar, four-year project ath the Ralph Lauren Ranch in Ridgway, Colorado.
Rainmaker Inc, has performed work over the years as a general contractor or subcontractor and has been supervised by owner's representatives while working in either of these capasities.
We feel a construction/service company is only as good as it's employees. Rainmaker's continuing growth and incresing profitability are due largely to a group of employees who care about the company. The length of time employees have stayed with the company is a good indicator of how the company operates. The seasonal nature of employment in the landscape and irrigation industry (especially on a cold climate like Colorado) usually contributes to a high employee turnover. High rates of compensation based on definable performance standards, along with a good benefit program, contribute to Rainmaker employee satisfaction.
